Gemma Peebles – Principal / CEO

Gemma has over a decade of experience working in Post-16 education, both in teaching and senior leadership. She has specialised in school improvement and improving outcomes for young people. In her last 3 posts she has taken the provision successfully to Ofsted ‘Good’. Gemma is a Business and Enterprise specialist with a BA in Accounting and Financial Management and Business Studies.

Her mantra ‘tell me what you want to achieve and we will make it happen.’

Gemma is Principal and also Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Gemma is also a Non-Executive Director for the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce.

Gail Stonier – Chief Operating Officer

Gail has over 20 years of experience working in Post 16 provision and has successfully set up new sixth forms and various provision in Further Education Colleges and Technical environments. Her executive responsibilities at Trust level have included safeguarding, SEN, health and well-being and governance. As a senior leader for over 15 years, Gail has effectively supported school improvement and concentrated on creating cultures which build strong, positive and supportive relationships where the students education revolves around their moral, social and emotional character growth alongside pursuing qualifications and learning that is central and purposeful to them being able to lead fulfilling future lives.

Gail is the Executive Director linked to Safeguarding and SENDCO.

Buzz – The Therapy Dog

Buzz is our most loved and excitable member of the team. He is on hand to take students on a walk when they need a sensory break or just to gain confidence in the local community.

Michael Peebles – Chief Commercial Officer

Michael has spent 20 years working in the commercial sector of sport and retail, building a valuable network of businesses that he will use to support the students in sourcing internships. Building the Harrison College brand and communicating this to stakeholders will be key to Michael’s role.

Rebecca Barber - Assistant Principal & Careers Lead

Becky has joined the team as a qualified Careers Lead, ready to advise and educate our young people on their careers. She will always be on hand to guide them through the career development plans and prepare them for their internship.

Colette Blunt - Business Development Executive

Colette has joined the team with a wealth of knowledge and experience from the world of commerce that she is ready to share with our students to prepare them for the real world of work and employment. She will be working alongside the Chief Commercial Officer to maintain business relationships and strengthen partnerships.

Laura Cooper – Teaching and Learning Team

As a passionate linguist, Laura has joined the team to work with our students to further their literacy skills and prepare them for work, using the relevant skills needed for such things as report writing and email composition.

Steve Dixon - Business Mentor

Steve is an experienced senior business leader with over four decades’ experience and a deep knowledge of the FMCG and food and beverage sector. Steve is an effervescent, charismatic, approachable and people focussed individual with experience volunteering across the third sector. Steve volunteers at Harrison College to mentor students on preparation for work and interviews.

Sean Glossop – Assistant Principal: SENDCO

Sean is an experienced Further Education teacher who has specialised in SEND from early in his career. Sean is passionate about ensuring the provision is right for all learners and that opportunities are open to all. In Sean’s spare time you will find him coaching junior football so a Harrison College team could be on the cards!

Lorna Hadwin - Guest - Assistant SENDCO

Personal Development, Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem have been the focus of Lorna’s career for over a decade in her role as a teacher of Drama and pastoral leader. She will be putting her expertise into leading our personal development and PSHE curriculum.

Chris Reid – Personal Development and Behaviour Lead

Chris is currently competing a Masters in SEND and is keen to support our young people to be the best they can be and exceed expectations. Chris has a wealth of experience from a range of education provisions and is ready to guide our young people into adulthood.

Clair Tucker – Teaching and Learning Team (Teacher)

An asset to the College, Clair has years of experience as a senior leader in education, she has also worked in various local businesses and now wants to support our students in their internships and preparing them for the workplace.

Steve Woodcock – Teaching and Learning Team and DofE Manager

Steve is an experienced further education teacher and is no stranger to developing interactive platforms to further students’ learning. Steve will be delivering our IT and numeracy skills for the workplace, preparing our young people for adulthood.
